Complete Metamorphosis consists of 4 life cycle stages: Egg, Larva, Pupa, and Adult
The process goes like this: 1. A female insects lays an egg. 2. The insect hatches and is soft and worm-like called a "larva." 3. At the end of the larval stage, the insect develops a hard shell and thus enters the "pupa" stage. 4. The larva stops eating at this stage and appears lifeless. 5. The adult larva leaves the pupa and is completely transformed. 6. The insect lies out in the sun to allow its exoskeleton to harden.
